Classification of orthopedic surgery

 

 

Clinically, orthopedic surgery is divided into four levels from level one to level four according to the degree of difficulty.

1. Level one surgery: It is the simplest level one surgery, mainly including debridement, bone traction, external fixation, joint cavity incision and drainage, shoulder and elbow joint reduction, sternocleidomastoid muscle resection, fascial compartment syndrome incision and decompression, and foreign body removal outside the lamina, etc.

 

2. Level two surgery: It mainly includes single limb long bone fracture incision reduction and internal fixation, open fracture treatment, tendon displacement, lengthening, joint dislocation reduction and internal fixation, bone transplantation, joint transplantation, vascularized bone, muscle free surgery, etc.

 

3. Level three surgery: hallux valgus orthopedic surgery, joint fusion, bone orthopedic surgery, bone lengthening, arthroplasty, hemiarthroplasty, total hip replacement, quadriplegia surgery, posterior lumbar disc nucleus pulposus removal, etc.

 

4. Level four surgery: It is the most difficult level one surgery. Pelvic fracture open reduction and internal fixation, bone tumor resection, total joint replacement, revision surgery, total knee replacement, congenital hip dislocation surgery, etc.
