The following are the most common conditions found during an arthroscopy:
Inflammation. This involves the lining (synovium) of the knee, shoulder, elbow, wrist or ankle
Injury. This includes:
Torn rotator cuff tendons, impingement syndrome and recurrent shoulder dislocations
Meniscus (cartilage) tears, chondromalacia (wear or damage to the cartilage pads) and ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) tears, which lead to knee instability
Loose bone or cartilage fragments. This mainly occurs in the knee, shoulder, elbow, ankle or wrist.
