How long does pain usually last after fracture surgery?

The duration of pain after fracture surgery varies from person to person and is affected by many factors, such as the fracture site, surgical method, individual pain tolerance, postoperative care, and whether there are complications.

If you experience any physical discomfort, please seek medical attention as soon as possible and follow the doctor's instructions for treatment. Do not take medication on your own.

1. Fracture site: Fractures in different parts of the body have different levels and duration of postoperative pain. For example, fractures of the limbs are relatively mild and may cause pain for 3-7 days; while fractures of the pelvis, spine, etc. may cause pain for 1-2 weeks.

2. Surgical method: Minimally invasive surgery has less trauma and pain generally lasts for 3-5 days; traditional open surgery has greater trauma and pain may last for 5-10 days.

3. Individual pain tolerance: Everyone has different feelings and tolerance for pain. People with high tolerance may have shorter pain duration; conversely, longer pain duration.

4. Postoperative care: Including wound care, position adjustment, rehabilitation training, etc. Proper care can relieve pain and shorten the duration of pain.

5. Are there any complications: If complications such as infection and loosening of internal fixation occur, the pain will be aggravated and the pain will last longer.

In short, there is no fixed standard for the duration of pain after fracture surgery. Patients should actively cooperate with treatment and care to relieve pain and promote recovery.
